Making WoW Gold Isn't Impossible Post-patch!

Many of us tried to play the market pre-patch 3.1 in World of Warcraft in an attempt to make WoW gold crazy profits after patch release. And many of us failed. The markets (as in, the AH and trade chat) have completely tanked for nearly every profession, and arctic fur, titansteel bars, frozen orbs, abyss crystals and all kinds of ore are flooding the market. About the only players making a 3.1 patch WoW gold profit are inscriptionists, who are making a killing on the glyph market while everyone takes on dual spec or updates with the latest glyph additions. It seems like no one is spending WoW gold on anything else, but there are still items you can sell to make WoW gold profits.

Northern Spices

Now that fishing can be leveled anywhere AND with the new fishing dailies, cooked and uncooked fish prices have dropped significantly. Buff foods that used to sell for upwards of 5 gold per piece are now selling for 1 gold or less on my server. Even fish feasts, which are no longer soul bound after patch 3.1 and experienced a fleeting opportunity for profit, are now selling for less than the cost of the mats to make them - except for Northern Spices. Why is that? Because of the new Chef's Hat achievement that requires 100 Dalaran Cooking Awards. Achievement junkies are hoarding their awards which has made the prices for Northern Spices skyrocket. All of these items will normalize over time, but for now people who need to level their cooking skills AND want the hat have no choice but to buy Northern Spices on the open market.

Raw Rare Gems

While the prices of raw gems have dropped, the prices of cut gems have dropped even more, making it hardly worth the time for a Jewel Crafter to cut gems. Oddly, the raw gems are still selling and selling quickly. If you have a JC, take advantage of the drop in prices for ore and prospect as much as possible to get those raw gems on the market. Make a WoW gold back profit by spamming trade for JC services. You'll make more WoW gold with this method now than you will trying to sell cut gems (only to have to re-list them again and again and again...losing the AH listing fee each time).
