If you are looking for an inexpensive photo printer with photo lab quality prints, the Epson Stylus Photo R380 Printer should be at the top of your list. With this printer, you can print directly to a CD or DVD. Also,Epson Stylus Photo R380 Printer is easy to set up and can be found at a fantastic price. This printer can be found from $120 - $130 in many stores.
It is easy to print photos from a memory card. There is a built in media card reader. The LCD screen makes it even easier to have the perfect print. Images are up to 5760 x 1440 optimized DPI. Also, there is a front PicBridge port. This allows for direct printing.
Epson Stylus Photo R380 Printer has automatic color and lighting and a correction feature. There is another great feature found on this printer. You can print movie clips from a digital camera.
The ink for this printer can be difficult to find. Many stores do not carry all six of the different inks. In many cases, owners of the Epson Stylus Photo R380 Printer have to purchase refill ink cartridges on the Epson website. Epson Inkjets cartridges employ sophisticated technology to ensure they produce the supreme quality of ink they are renowned for. The ink is smudge, water and fade resistant. Therefore, compatible inkjet cartridges are cheaper, but the results are mediocre at best.
The price of this ink is high. They are from $14 - $16 on the Epson website for each color. There are premium ink cartridges that produce about 50% more prints for about $20 each. If you plan to do heavy-duty printing, this is the way to go. The ink does not work well with other brands of photo paper.
Some of the disadvantages of this printer are the phone support is not toll free. Epson's customer service on occasion could be much better. Also, there is limited paper handling options.
