no swagger necessary
you bring to me
sweetness of a lemon
upon my lips
as you just keep yourself
real

you be that man that allows
me to exist in my time
with no dramatics
just me
a simple poetess
faulted...yet, just an unique
sister who wants simplicity

capturing me with a gentleness
of a man of intelligence who
has the edge of the streets
I gotta believe that what God has
put together no man can pull apart

You be you
and I be me
yet together a force has been created
powerfully

You remind me
I am woman
and you be man
and there's no reason why
we can't set this world on fire

a covenant between us
is deeper than the clear blue seas

You comfort me in ways
I never vocalize
cause .... you make me glow
and I know
that no matter what we will be

simple hearts that fight, love
and bleed on the same plane
of existence
