Electronics Review - Polaroid LCD Widescreen TV with HDTV

FLM-3732: 37" HD LCD TV with ATSC Tuner

Choosing a new television can seem daunting at first. There are stand alones, projection screen, LCD, plasma, big screens, small screens, travel sized, and theater sized. Countless name brands are available and among them they all have different features. Many times the price range can
narrow your choices down a bit but most televisions are being so competitively priced at this point that it is still a difficult decision to choose the very best one.

I knew we wanted a flat screen LCD television and I knew I didn't want to spend more than $1500 on it. While this narrowed our selection down quite a bit, we were still left with many to choose from. We decided to stick with one store instead of driving back and forth among others. There we would be able to see the televisions, on and running under the same lighting conditions and decide which in fact had the best detail and the best picture quality.

The Polaroid HD LCD TV stood out among the rest. Its sleek design was pleasing but the picture quality was unsurpassed. At first, we couldn't figure out what it was that made it so much better than the rest. It had the same values for resolution, brightness, and contrast ratio. After closer inspection, we realized that the television screen has no glare. The screen image was picture perfect and gave the appearance that whatever is on the screen is actually right in front of you. Seeing how our living room has a very large window on the opposite side of the room from where this piece of equipment would be sitting, we were thrilled to find that glaring wouldn't be a problem. At an awesome value of just around $1000, this ultra-slim 37" beauty was coming home with us.

They suck!! I do not recommend them at all. Mine lasted only three months. I am now experiencing what Michelle went through. Money down the drain unless my local TV repairmen can help. Oh, but wait! Polaroid parts division is stingy with their parts and gives local repairmen a hard time. That is why I have been waiting since Dec 2008 to hear from them. Consumer Reports People, you really need to publish this. Polaroid Customer Service sucks! I just got off the phone after being on hold for 39 minutes and then transferred only to hold another 15!!!!

I am with you. Piece of CRAP! We bought our TV on Black Friday 2008. It hasn't worked right since we took it out of the box. It would turn off every hour to hour & a half. NOW, the whole thing stopped working. No sound and a purple picture that you can barley see. We have been in touch with Polaroid since December with NO luck...NONE. We tried to return the TV which we purchased at WalMart and they will not let us. They told us we have to go through the Manufacture. What a joke...$800 in the trash! Now what do I do...I don't have $800 sitting around to buy ANOTHER TV. BUT, you can bet when I do it will NOT be a Polaroid.

The 37" Polaroid LCD is known to be a lemon. I'm with anyone who wants to get a consumer complaint list going so we can possibly get our money back. No one should have the right, especially such a well known name like Polaroid, to walk off with $1,000 of anyone's money.

But is it still working now? Mine isn't. Lasted only 2 years and pic went out. Had to unplug/replug and that worked 3 times...but no more. $1,000 down the drain.

12/07 I bought the 42inch Flat screen LCD Polaoid HDTV tlx 04640 1080. Less than a year I had no picture and I called Polaroid and it yook 2 weeks to get a technician out to find out that the tv was no good. The customer service reps were no help and the supervisors told me that I could only get a Refurbished (used TV) wth a 90 day warranty. They will not give you any documentation in writing or email and refuse to let you speak with the president ofPolaroid. They are very unproffessional people. Please check out all of the Bad reviews. Don't buy Polaroid Tv's.
