Top 10 Reasons Geeks Make Better Mates

10. They can fix your computer and program your VCR (usually). The downside is that your computer or other targetted machine may be in lots of very small pieces while they work on it. And they almost always want to upgrade.

9. They don't tend to like watching sports as much. This is not, however, a guarantee that all that freed up time will be spent with you. You will have to pry them away from
video games and such on occasion.

8. You can buy them Nerf toys for presents and they're almost always very much appreciated. You can buy geeks all manner of toys and games and they will be amused for hours, even days. Legos, Transformers toys - you name it - it's all good!

7. They are usually employed. They may not be millionaires, but they do tend to have jobs that pay the bills. Better yet, they usually like working. Remember, bored geek is a very sad and potentially dangerous geek.

6. They won't be hurt and offended if you make more money than they do. In fact, they'd prefer it. If you make more money, then your geek assumes he or she can get more toys. More money = more toys = good.

5. Geeks know when to just write checks. Most geeks know better than to take a hammer and go after the plumbing problems themselves. They call a plumber. Geeks know their limits and fixing the plumbing takes away from gaming time. In fact, #5 can be extrapolated out to other menial tasks like lawn mowing, trimming, roof, gutters, the cars.

4. Geeks know that it's what's on the inside that counts. It's a misconception that geeks have "low standards" when it comes to the dating scene. They actually have very high standards, and fairly specific ideas about their ideal mate. How you look in a bikini is far less important to understanding you are about his or her 20 hour a day gaming habit.

3. Geeks don't tend to cheat. Mainly because lying requires a lot more effort and time than they're willing to expend. Also, affairs tend to take away from gaming time - a definite draw back.

2. They mean what they say. See above about lying being too much work to keep track of. If your geek does lie, it will usually be fairly transparent and obvious as they don't get a lot of practice.
