BabelDirected by Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu (Amores Perros and 21 Grams) for Paramount Pictures.
Starring: Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Gael Garcia Bernal
Babel is a very up to date, modernistic, democratic and equal look at a few dark corners of the world rarely seen by the average American in this commercial (yet independent at heart) dreamy drama by director Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu. Babel sheds light on certain topics that may be overlooked in a fictional knot tied by a handful of characters set around the world, almost completely in ignorance of each other's existence, as well as their part in a global link that unravels like an intricate and beautiful web woven by a blind spider
The art of director Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu is very raw and hard hitting, definitely a huge player in the movie world, and will leave a serious mark on the film making craft. His floaty camera style and realistic scene depiction almost fool the viewer into thinking that this is an actual non-fictional account of some actual disaster. The interconnected characters and multiple themes is definitely a technique that is being used throughout the modern drama, although not always successfully. Innaritu has a grip on this technique and flaunts it like a pro, being a true pioneer. Having raved about his style and the appreciation of his mastery, there are a few flaws that I can't help but hang on to.
1.) It's too dreamy.

Amores Perros, another of Innaritu's films is directed in much the same fashion and has the same dreamy feel to it, as well as the absolute rush of honesty and sheer shocking truth found in Babel as well.Today's Most Commented On
