'Obsessed' with 'The Office'

Ah, Charles. It was so nice to see you unceremoniously shown to the door by the former owner and founder of the Michael Scott paper company in the latest episode of 'The Office'. You were denied an exit speech just as you earlier denied Michael his; Pam is now in sales and back in the same building as Jim; the poor Korean woman is still sitting, sitting in the van waiting to go church (I will forever wonder what fate befell this silent, mysterious character); and bee-loving Dwight can wear short sleeves once more (I can hardly wait for more Dwight/Jim/Michael drama). But what will become of Mr. Charles Miner now? Will he make another appearance on the 'The Office'? Does actor Idris Elba's new role in the film 'Obsessed' offer some hints as to what will become of his character?

I was rather surprised to see that Idris Elba was playing another Charles in a new movie (which is supposed to be a thriller, but we'll see); however, this time Charles is his last name. (Derek is his first, and somehow this just does not work at all.) That movie is called 'Obsessed', and not only is Idris Elba lucky enough to be married to Beyonce in it; Ali Larter is absolutely obsessed with him (see how clever they were with the title?)

Much of the movie, like 'The Office', takes place in an office. However, the characters aren't nearly as funny, although actor Jerry O'Connell tries to be. O'Connell also once starred in a television show about office life, or rather, the ride to it, called 'Carpoolers' (Hollywood never ceases to amaze me with these whimsical titles!)

Actress Ali Larter sizzles onscreen in 'Obsessed', but if she really wanted to win over Idris Elba, she should have donned the whipped cream (actually shaving cream) bikini she's so famous for. And with the way Beyonce's been singing lately, we couldn't blame his character for wanting to leave her for the psycho (yes, I'm aware the video of Beyonce's supposed live mike at the 'The Today Show' is just a hoax, but I couldn't resist).
