You don't have to have extraordinary talent as a painter to create some really interesting looks on walls or furniture. Imprint transfers are becoming a great way to use pre-printed patterns to create murals and other tough to replicate designs. You can purchase these online or at some of the larger home improvement stores. The designs are nearly unlimited, so the only limit is your imagination. All you need to create just about any pattern is transfer liquid and the imprint. From simple murals to large entire wall designs, you too can create a beautiful and long lasting work of art in your home.

To start with you need just a few materials and tools to begin your imprint project. Disposable latex gloves are a must fro any paint project. You need a roll of painters tape to hold down the imprint. You also need a paint stick or wooden shim to help rub the transfer to the project you're working on. A foam brush to apply the bonding gel, and of course the bonding gel. You may need a utility knife to cut any imprints to size.

Apply any base coats of paint before you imprint any objects to your project. Usually two good coats and allow the paint to dry for at least 48 hours. This allows enough time for the paint to dry so it doesn't peel off onto your imprint or bleed through.

Cut any imprints to size as needed. Wipe the imprint with a soft lint free rag to remove any dust or other debris. Also wipe the area you're going to apply the imprint to clean and free of any debris or dust. If you have an area where you have applied no paint, you may wipe with a damp cloth to clean the area as needed. Allow to dry well before applying any gel.
