Edmund Kemper
The "Co-ed Killer"
Edmund Kemper also known as Edmund Emil Kemper III was a serial killer from California, United States of America in the early 1970s. Edmond started his journey of crime with killing his own grand mother.Edmund was the middle child and only son born to Edmund Kemper, Jr. and Clarnell Strandberg on the day of 18th December, 1948. He was an extremely bright child, but he was a sociopath from his young age. He was enjoying, torturing and killing animals and purportedly stabbed a cat to death. He showed out bizarre sexually rituals with his sister's dolls. He was a pyromaniac and showed the signs of necrophilia; once, when his sister told him to give a kiss to the teacher he liked, he answered "To kiss her, I would have to kill her".
Edmund was very close to his father and he was devastated when his parents divorced in 1957 and he had to stay with his mother. His mother had severe bouts of borderline personality disorder and she was continuously humiliating her children. Clarnell often made Edmund sleep in a locked basement because she had a fear that Edmund might rape his own sister.
After the relationships got worsen with his mother he ran away from home to see his father in California. But, when he saw his father, his father had remarried and didn't have anything to do with his son. Edmund Sr. didn't allow his son to stay with him and placed Edmund with his grand parents. Edmund stayed with his grand parents in North Fork, California, but he found the place boring, especially because he didn't liked his grand mother.
In the evening of 27th August, 1964, Edmund shot his grandmother when she was writing the final pages of her recent children's book on her kitchen table. Subsequently, when his grandfather came home, he shot him too because he would be angry to know what Edmund had done to his grandmother. When he was questioned regarding his grandmother's death, he replied "I just wanted to know what it felt like to kill Grandma".
