Once Teen Queen of Pop and the princess to beat on the charts and on MTV, Mrs. Kevin (Britney) Federline has tunneled again into the depths of rehab and out of control celebrity lunacy. Will Kevin take her back? Spears's recent antics turn a different meaning on the pop diva's hit single "Hit Me Baby One More Time".Britney Spears allegedly tried to hang herself in rehab at Promises in Malibu, where she checked into an entire wing to evade press coverage of her stay. Promises is a facility known for rehabbing out of control and upper crust Southern California celebrities and substance abusers, much like the Hazelden facility in New York. But the effects of rehab do not agree with Britney.
The report is going around that Britney Spears attempted to hang herself with a bed sheet. Allegedly this happened after Britney wrote 666 on her shaved head and ran around the rehab facility screaming "I am the Antichrist!" Was this for-real behavior, or simply a clever act that will allow her to plead insanity at her children's custody hearings?
The Promises staff, accustomed to freaky behavior, was frightened. Allegedly a friend of her says:
"She attached a sheet to a light and tied it around her neck. Paramedics were called, but luckily she was unhurt."
The story takes a stranger twist with the next report. "Within days Britney had swung from out-of-control suicidal to matrimonial as she told hubby Kevin Federline she wanted to take him back, renew their wedding vows and get pregnant(again).
Is this the final stage in the public breakdown of a once revered teen role model? Is the Anna Nicole Smith phenomenon occurring more close to home?
Access Hollywood reports that Brooke Shields may be counseling Britney Spears in her unique stages of recovery. Britney was spotted in Promises rehabilitation clinic reading Brooke's book, "Down Came the Rain," about the subject of postpartum depression.
With Lindsay Lohan in and out of Wonderland, The Olsen twins looking scarier every day, and producers of "The Simple Life" rushing Nicole Ritchie to the hospital for food and water, the game of Hollywood celebrity has become a game of life and death.
