Steven Grant Confesses to the Murder from His Hospital Bed

Originally reported by Christine Bude on Associated Content, Steven Grant, the man who was the prime suspect in the disappearance of his wife, and later in her murder, was arrested in connection with her death. Today, in an update on the case, Grant has reportedly confessed to his wife's murder and dismemberment, providing the police with the gruesome details of her killing.

Tara Lynn Grant, 34, is believed to have been killed by strangulation. A CBS News, Associated Press article claims that after Tara Grant was killed, her body was then mutilated, and the torso found in the Grant's garage. Other body parts also believed to belong to Tara Grant were found in a nearby park.

The medical examiner (ME) told the Detroit Free Press that according to a preliminary autopsy report, Tara grant had no visible signs of injury prior to her death, other than bruising around her neck. The dismemberment is believed to have occurred after her death. News reports as of this morning indicate the cause of death - strangulation - has been confirmed by the ME.

Tara Grant was last seen on February 9, when, according to Grant, he and his wife had an argument and she left, with him seeing her get into a vehicle in front of their house. However, she was not reported missing by Grant until February 14. Grant tells the Macomb County Sheriff's department that he waited to report her missing, because he believed she was just calming down from the argument the couple had.

According to the Detroit News, Grant's ex girlfriend contacted the news agency to report that Grant had been tracking Tara Grant's activities because he suspected her of cheating on him. According to the news report, Grant's ex girlfriend claimed he had told her he had installed a device to track her internet usage.
