To start earning you enter your personal ID number-for example slashmysearch.com/earn/id/XXXX. You then start using it as a normal search engine. The website offers several categories options such as web, news, images, shopping, jobs, eBay and even Amazon. The main page offers the top new stories from sources around the world. When you do a search, often times you are brought to the website snap.com. But you are still earning on Slash My Search. Search results for the web do offer a webpage of your result preview on the right hand side of the computer screen. Not all websites provide a preview as of yet. I thought that was a pretty cool feature that you don't get with the top search engines such as Yahoo or Google.
I was excited when I heard of others earning around $3.00 a day. But disappointed when I started hearing others being kicked off because they were clicking too much. The person might have been clicking extra to earn or was doing a lot of research. The website has a message forum for members and I found many to be talking about lower earnings. Before the minimum payout is $50.00 but now has been switched to only $20.00. Unfortunately with the lower earnings potential, the lower minimum payout mark is still hard to reach. Your first payment is expected around 2 months via paypal. Oddly enough many members were confused when it was stated the administrator of Slash My Search sent an e-mail to all members explaining about the earnings. Many were baffled including myself as I did not receive any e-mail regarding this matter. Generally the rate is $0.25 for each hour searching. You earn money each time your referrals search as well. For every hour your referral uses the search engine, you earn $0.15. But as stated on the website the pay rate can change daily resulting is even less pay.
