What Makes a Diehard Gamer?

If you've visited a Gamestop, EB Games, or any of hundreds of smaller gaming outlets then you've probably come across what could be classified as a diehard gamer. In the public eye the chances of you picking out one of these gaming elites is virtually zero, because unlike what most of society thinks, these fine individuals are not fat slobs that loose cheese doodles in the creases of their overly developed love handles. They're simply gamers of another breed, willing to spend, master, craft, and hone their way to dominance in competition or merely in the realm of a particular video game. However, if you do encounter one, there are a few things that you should be readily aware of before you find yourself in the middle of a firestorm. They Don't Care What You Think of Them There's not much to explain about this, but detail is merited regardless. Regardless of whether or not you think they're the biggest nerd in the world or you think they're the greatest of gamers, the odds are they genuinely just don't care.
Magazines, Polls, Editorials and everything else cannot define a diehard Gamer Several reports have been published, naming players who spend more in the vicinity of $40 a month a hardcore gamer. The same goes for those who spend more than two hours playing a game a week. These statistics quite simply are unreasonable. When the average game costs around $50 for a home system and many games have total game play hours measuring over 30, to even consider something of that nature defining a diehard gamer is ridiculous. With so many titles released a month and games offering more to the consumer, just about anyone who even touched a video game nowadays would be considered a diehard veteran.
