Restaurant Review for Greenwood's Melting Pot

The Melting Pot, located on S.R. 37, in Greenwood, IN is definitely something different for the area. It doesn't look like much from the outside, as it is in a strip mall, but once you are inside, it definitely is something of a different league among restaurants in the area. In Greenwood, you have your typical restaurants, steakhouse, Italian, Mexican and so on. The Melting Pot is a fondue restaurant.

The entrance area is pretty small, but since most diners have reservations, bigger isn't necessary. There is a gorgeous waterfall on the wall behind the hostess desk and great view of the wine selection behind a huge glass wall. We also noticed that it was fairly quiet and calm when we entered. Nothing like your average restaurant on a Friday night, no clamoring or hectic atmosphere.

We were seated right away in a gorgeous dining area. Although they have many tables, it still is very private. The table we were seated at was almost completely enclosed around us to make us feel as if we were in our own little world. The tables are beautiful granite slabs with a center stovetop for your fondue pots. The atmosphere is very romantic with low lighting and a deep, warm color palette.

The waiter arrived at the table with our menus and asked us if this was our first visit to The Melting Pot. As it was, he gave us a brief and helpful description of the place and what our dining experience would be like. Upon his leaving us, we looked over the menu, which had plenty to choose from. Like most restaurants, there were individual entrees, but there were also dinners for two and what they call "Big Night Out" meals. The individual meals are just that, your meal consists of the entree and that is all. With the dinner for two, you get your choice of a cheese fondue, salad and entree. The "Big Night Out" is what we opted for, which includes your choice of a cheese fondue, salad, entree and chocolate fondue for dessert.
