If you find yourself driving down the streets of Chattanooga, wondering why you crave chicken, look no further than the road. The city is one of four cities nationwide to receive a $3,000 donation from Kentucky Fried Chicken.

The fast food company recently launched an infrastructure renewal sponsorship campaign. KFC issued an open offer to mayors of cities nationwide to describe the state of disrepair found on their streets.

Four cities picked at random will receive the cash to repair about 500 potholes in each location. Chattanooga plans to start work Wednesday repairing potholes and agreed to stencil "Re-Freshed by KFC" on several of the pavement repairs in non-permanent street chalk.

"This program is a perfect example of that rare and optimal occurrence when a company can creatively market itself and help local governments and everyday Americans across the country," said Javier Benito, executive vice president of marketing and food innovation for KFC.

Along with Chattanooga, KFC will fund pot hole repairs in Warren, Ohio, Louisville, Kentucky, and Topeka, Kansas.
