Wilkes Community College is located in the foothills of Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Set on wonderful background of the Blue Ridge Mountains this college offers many two year degrees in an "open door" atmosphere.
Wilkes Community College (WCC) has three locations to server the educational needs of the rural areas that surround the main campus. The main campus is located in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. The college also has branches in West Jefferson, North Carolina, better known as the Ashe Campus, and in Sparta, North Carolina. All three campuses encourage local high school students to enroll in the concurrently enrollment program. Concurrent enrollment is for high school students 16 years of age and older to attend college classes that focus on a field of study that they are interested in. Wilkes Community College also offers day and night classes to fit any student's needs.
WCC offers 37 two year degrees. Of those 37 degrees, five are offered through collaborative agreements with other North Carolina community colleges. WCC offers something for everyone and is always adding new programs to its fields of study. They offer everything from Auto Body Repair to Nursing and Graphic Design to Business Administration. If you are not looking to get an associate degree and just want to brush up on skills you already have Wilkes Community College also offers many diploma and certificate programs which take a year of less to complete. Wilkes Community College is partnered with Appalachian State University and also Gardner-Webb University. Classes for both Universities are offered on the WCC's many campus.
