Genesis provides a well-developed program for drug and alcohol treatment. Although the detoxification center is not a hospital itself, it provides 24-hour care in its residential facility. With special treatment programs in place for persons with a co-occurring mental illness, Genesis is a strong choice for someone needing support around the clock for multiple issues. Genesis is also comprehensive enough to provide services in Spanish and English. Considered a short-term program with a cap of 30 days, the focus of detoxification is to remove the substance and its effects using a variety of therapeutic approaches. Persons who complete the program at Genesis will still need additional post-residential support, and Genesis assists with the transition back into the Milwaukee community.
