What's New With the Very Talented Salma Hayek?

Many people know Salma Hayek as one of the most talented Mexican actresses ever. What many people don't know is that before she got into the field of acting she was first and aspiring gymnast with a goal of one day being in the Olympics. Even though that did not work out for her it seems that acting certainly has. She did attend college for several years in Mexico but dropped out to pursue her acting career.

After acting in some very top movies such as Desperado, and Frida to name just a few. Not only is she an actress but she has also founded her own production company called Ventanaroas, and has produced numerous films and television shows. Her first film as a producer was called El Coronel NoTiene Quien Le Escriba, and it was chosen as the Mexico's best foreign Film at the Oscars in 1999. She also won a daytime Emmy Award for directing "The Maldonado Miracle, which appeared on show time.

More recently in 20056 she was the director for one of Prince's music videos. Also as of September 2006 she is the executive producer of the hit television show called "Ugly Betty". It has already won a Golden Globe Award for the "Best Comedy Series". According to rumors she is currently engaged to Francois-Henri Pinault who is a French business man, and they are also expecting their first child together. Obviously this is a very exciting event since she has always stated how much she wanted to have children. Fans are hopping that this news is not just a rumor and is fact since many of them thinks that she would be a great mother. The question that many people seem to be asking themselves is that if she is pregnant will she be putting her career on hold to stay home and raise her child? Many doubt that would happen, but instead feel that she will probably have her baby right by her side while she is producing or acting. Many famous actresses and actors who have children often have their kids on the set along with a nanny, or with their spouse. One thing is for sure is that we can definitely expect to see much more from this forty year young actress. The next question that fans and the media will want answered is whether or not she is expecting a boy or a girl.
