Over 14 million people suffer from the redness and pustules of rosacea. Eucerin has attempted to tap into the market with the Eucerin Redness Relief line. The line consists of four products that are available separately or boxed in a kit of sample sizes.

The first product in the kit is the Eucerin Redness Relief Soothing Cleanser. The cleanser is a unscented, soap-free gel that does not strip the face. Over cleansing can cause a rosacea flare up, so gentle cleansing is necessary. This product is very gentle, but it does not remove makeup well and leaves a slight oily film that could be troublesome for people with oily skin. It is labeled as non-comedogenic, but the film left behind after cleansing did cause a few breakouts.

After cleansing, the kit provides Daily Perfecting Lotion. The lotion has a subtle green tint to neutralize red patches and also has an SPF 15. The lotion fared much better than the cleanser. It left skin soft and immediately minimized the appearance of red patches. The SPF also helps reduce sun exposure, thereby reducing the risk of a rosacea flare up. In addition to masking rosacea symptoms, the lotion contains a licorice extract that can reduce rosacea symptoms.

Rosacea sufferers often have dry, scaly patches on their skin. To treat this, the kit includes Soothing Night crème. This product also contains Licochalcone, which soothes skin and can reduce the symptoms of rosacea. The product is oil-free an non-comedogenic. It went on very light and soaked into the skin immediately. There was no immediate redness relief, however.

For areas that are particularly red the kit includes the Redness Reducing Concealer. This is a thicker version of the Daily Perfecting Lotion in a small tube with a wand applicator for precise placement. The heavy green tint did hide the red splotches, but unless applied with a very light hand, it showed up under foundation. Skin colored concealer would be required in addition to this product.
