When I was growing up there was a large field full of daisies along one side of our long driveway leading out to the main street. As a young child I found the field of white daisies swaying in the wind enchanting and
beautiful as I took my long walk out to the road to wait for the bus.

Daisies are easy to grow and they help to feed the honey bees. America is now experiencing a mysterious loss of the honey bee population. Thus it is important to plant flowers that will help the bees thrive.

The Dollar Store near where I live is selling flower seeds ten packs for one dollar. They have Shasta daisy seeds. Thus I've planted a lot of daisy seeds this spring. I can't wait to see the flowers. So check your local Dollar Store you may find an easy, cheap way to obtain flower seeds.

Daisies are a wonderful flower with many uses. Daisies are available in many colors, white, yellow, pink and purple. Daisies feed the bees, they make lovely bridal bouquets for a casual wedding, and they look lovely inside as a cut flower in a vase.

Seeing daisies reminds me of a simpler time when America had much more open land. So if you see a vacant lot perhaps you may want to toss a few daisy seeds there. If they bloom that open land will serve to help the wildlife thrive when full of daisies that can feed the honey bees.

Do a Good Deed

A lovely good deed might be to plant a garden full of daisies for an elderly neighbor. These simple flowers bring much joy and many memories back to anyone who loved the flower when young.

Donate Daisies to a Hospital

Another idea is to grow a plot of daisies to have flowers to donate to the local hospital on a regular basis. Hospital waiting rooms are very sterile, harsh places. A lovely bouquet of donated flowers will go a long way to brighten the mood of someone having the stress of spending time in a hospital waiting room.
