Prince of Darkness, King of the Fallen Angels, Great Corrupter, The Father of All Lies, and many other clever descriptive titles have been bestowed on our guest today, the ubiquitous and mysterious former celestial second in command himself, The Devil.Good evening Mr. Devil, you have multiple titles and names granted to you by almost every culture and civilization on Earth, Lucifer, Mara, The Devil, Satan; what would you prefer to be called?
"It's difficult to explain the nature of multifaceted deity-consciousness. In a way, all of those names are correct and any one of them will do, but in another way a;; of those names represent different parts of my meta-personality, but the me that's talking to you today is what I like to think of as the real me. I rather liked it just now when you called me Mr. Devil, I think that's a good contemporary, non specific multicultural title, let's stick with that."
That's very interesting, Mr. Devil, I suppose it was just natural of me to assign my culture's most common respectful title to your name. Like you mentioned, your historic multiple personalities have caused a great deal of confusion as to your true nature, which is why I'm so glad you could join us on the program tonight. It's a real honor.
"It's my pleasure, George; It's been a good long while since I've gotten a decent interview."
Mr Devil, is there a certain personality that dominates your true nature? Or are all of the varying characters real in of themselves?
"Well George, it's a little of both. I've played some well centralized roles in my time. There was a day not too far back when I spent most of my time making petty, back handed deals to gullible farmers in America's South. just before that I mostly lived in Hell, and boy oh boy was I constantly in a foul mood."
Do you mean that you no longer live in Hell? Or have you always been free to travel about as you please?
