My Brother stars newcomer Christopher Scott as the role of James--who is the first African American actor with down syndrome to star in a leading role along with Brooklyn's own Nashawn Kearse (Isaiah) from Desperate Housewives, Entourage, and the Sapranos. The movie opens with an inside look of two impoverished siblings struggling to stay positive in the everyday scheme of life. The heartfelt movie depicts the hurt and pain associated with the challenges of being poor and recaps memories of the boys youth when the two were put into adoption because of their mother's tragic circumstance.

The story unfolds as Isaiah finds a quick 'get rich' scheme that puts both the brother's lives at risks. Now on the run from an Arabic mob, without his brother, Isiah is haunted by the memories of the past, the bond of protection created by their mother L'Tisha (played by Vanessa Williams) and the love for his mentally disabled brother James.

As a Board member of the Special Olympics and single mother of 4, Vanessa Williams says this movie hit very close to home. "Playing the role of L'Tisha who is a single mother dieing of Tuberculosis, she struggles to keep her boys together knowing she will have to give them up to the adoption system. Desperately she wants her boys to stay together even in the struggles of life--love of children and brotherhood is the key message in this movie," said Williams.

Two brothers with the same trials and tribulations in the streets of the inner city struggling to get ahead with the message of love is evident in this movie. "The special message is sticking together through challenges, obstacles, struggles and other adversities and brotherly love will conquer all," Williams said about the relationship of the two boys in the film.
