Each year, millions of people visit Florida. One of the most popular attractions for Florida visitors is the beaches that outline the state. If you are planning a trip to one or more of the many popular beaches that are nestled on Florida's coast, there are many items that you should be sure to pack for your vacation. In this article, we will look at some of the necessary items that should be packed for your Florida beach vacation.

One of the most important items that you should pack for your Florida beach vacation is sunscreen. Floridians place a high value on sunscreen when visiting the many beaches that are available in Florida, and visitors should as well. Many people simply ignore the importance of sunscreen while visiting Florida in hopes to achieve that golden Florida tan. This is a very dangerous move. Many people who visit Florida in hopes of achieving a great tan end up with severe sunburn and suffer many complications because of this.

If you do not wear sunscreen on the Florida beaches, you will experience severe sunburn. With the combination of sand, sun, and salt that are all part of the Florida beaches environment, you are sure to go home with a nasty burn. In addition to the pain that sunburn can bring, it is unhealthy for your skin and can make you quite sick. Death has even been reported as far as sunburns in Florida are concerned.

There are a few important facts that you should know about the beautiful "Florida sunshine" and precautionary methods for your safety when traveling to this state, and they are as follows:

1) The Florida sunshine has the most dangerous rays at certain times of the day. If possible, try to limit your exposure during these times. The sun seems to be the most damaging between the hours of 11am and 3pm.

2) When purchasing sunscreen, it is equally important to purchase sunscreen that can be used on your lips. Many forms of chap stick are waterproof and contain sunscreen. Try to purchase these types of lip balm and chap stick whenever possible.

3) When applying sunscreen to the body, key areas are around the face, neck, and shoulders.
