The recent diet fad, obviously put out by manufacturers, intended to "help" dieters by recreating cookies, and chips into neat 100 calorie packages has really caught on. One can see those 100 calorie packages literally everywhere. You have obviously seen the ads on TV. They have been touted as great snacks for dieters who don't want to feel gypped or deprived of dessert snacks. However, are these snacks really good for you? Are there better ways for dieters to snack healthfully and still loose weight? Just how do these 100 calorie snack packs stack up in real life, compared to the regular cookies and chips, and other snack possibilities for dieters in real life?In the area of nutrition these 100 calorie snack packs fall far short of what the average dieter needs. An average dieter is cutting out anywhere from 100 to 500 or more calories a day. These calories that are being cut out come not just in the form of sugar, but also vitamins, fiber and other nutrients are being cut out. Wouldn't it be better if a small snack could do something other than stimulate the release of insulin? Wouldn't it be better if the small snack that a dieter eats be filled with as much nutrition as possible? Yes, 100 calories fill a desire, but wouldn't it be better if these small packs be natural as well as nutritious. Would you be able to think of some food that would qualify something that is not a cookie or even a so called health bar?
Portable, natural, healthy, and low calorie, this describes fruit. Fruit is the best snack item for several reasons that the 100 calorie pack can't deliver. Fiber, those 100 calorie packs just don't deliver the necessary dietary fiber. Fiber is one of components of food that actually and naturally makes us feel full so we don't overeat. In addition fiber also helps control cholesterol levels and aids in having a healthy digestive system.
