Atlanta, GA - The Independent Black Film Festival (IBFF) and Comcast Digital Cable have joined forces to provide national exposure to independent filmmakers by adding the 2007IBFF FADE IN Awards Show to Comcast's ON DEMAND programming, IBFF festival director Asante Addae, announced today. Hosted by Meagan Good (Stomp the Yard), and Ty Hodges (Material Girls) at the Carter Center on March 17, the prestigious awards ceremony is the signature event for the Fourth Annual Independent Black Film Festival taking place March 14-18 at various venues around Atlanta. "We are excited to have the opportunity to promote the Independent Black Film Festival Awards Gala ON DEMAND," said Kim Beckford, Sales and Marketing Manager for Comcast. "With nearly 100 million programs viewed in Georgia and more than one billion programs viewed nationwide over the last ten months, it is clear ON DEMAND is transforming the way people watch TV and that this is the perfect venue for promoting contemporary world cinema."
Addae commented, "The Independent Black Film Festival is excited about this new opportunity for audiences to experience the festival in a completely different way." He continued, " Comcast has been wonderfully generous in its support of the festival. It means so much to us that our partners at Comcast created this unique new showcase for independent filmmakers and the Festival."
ON DEMAND offers Comcast Digital Cable customers the ability to choose from a variety of programming using an interactive, on-screen programming guide that makes selecting the IBFF FADE IN Awards quick and easy. Viewers can store movie selections for at least 24 hours from the time of ordering, so they can watch whenever and however often they like.
The IBFF will screen over 40 independent films and shorts and offer several film related workshops during the five-day festival. For a detailed schedule of film screenings, workshops, and registration information visit www.indieblackfest.org, email indieblackfilm@yahoo.com, or call 404-468-3013.
