Mark and Luke tell the same story Matthew does, but minute differences are still noticeable. We'll note them here.Mark
Mark is the second gospels in the group of synoptic gospels, which include Matthew, Mark, and Luke. They all relate similar narratives of the life and ministry of Jesus. Mark is commonly believed to be the first of the synoptic gospels written because there are areas where Mark and Matthew share the same order of events excluding Luke, and there are other areas where Mark and Luke share the same order events without Matthew. No such relationship exists between Matthew and Luke. Unlike Matthew and Luke, Mark begins with Jesus baptism instead of His genealogy. When it comes to order of events, Mark proceeds similar to Matthew as it describes Jesus' season of temptation, early disciple recruiting, but Mark omits Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. From there, Jesus' ministry continues as he heals the sick and tells parables. Jesus did various miracles at first, but after the Pharisees protested His healings during the Sabbath, He decided to use parables. Jesus' begins migrating towards Jerusalem when as the time draws near for the crucifixion. At the end of Passover Judas sold Jesus to the Jewish leadership in Jerusalem, and after enduring four overnight trials (which were illegal), He was crucified, and then He gave up his life, and was then buried. Three days later, Jesus arose from the grave, appeared to several hundred people, and gave the Apostles his final commandment to evangelize the world, before He ascended into heaven.
