Final Fantasy XI, also well known as FFXI, is a Mass Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG). In Final Fantasy XI you must attain gil(s) to buy new gear, spells, weapons, food, and so on. Gil(s) is the currency used in Final Fantasy XI, in case you didn't guess that already. In order to buy products you can purchase them from specific NPC (Non-Playable Characters) or buy them from the Auction House. Auction Houses are located in all cities, and in most zones in the cities as well. But, as in any financial sitution, in real life or in game, you must attain money (gil[s]) in order to make the purchases that you may want or need. There are many effective ways to help gain money in Final Fantasy XI. Such ways of gaining money are: farming, gardening, mining, fishing, crafting (smithing, goldsmithing, culinary, leathercraft, alchemy, ect), BCNM's, KSNM's, and many, many more unique ways of obtaining gil(s).
However, this is an article dedicated to BCNM's, one of the most effective ways of obtaining gil(s) in Final Fantasy XI. However, since BCNMs are so effective, they are also based on chance and luck when it comes to what the enemies drop. There are ways of increasing the drop rate in theory, which I will also explain in here as well.
First of all, BCNM is short for 'Burning Circle Notorious Monster'. A 'Burning Circle' is basically a small teleportation point that brings you to another private area for you and your party only to fight somewhat harder monsters to obtain greater royalties. Of course, it doesn't always turn out that way, sometimes you get incredibly poor drops for all of your efforts, but that is the fun in the 'BCNM', you never know what you're gonna get! There are multiple fights you can participate in, and each different scenario of a fight drops different items. Essentially, there is a list of items that may drop, but they wont all drop. Some of the items are worth a lot, while some of the other items on the list are worth next to nothing.
