In a magical land perched up on a cloud

Was a cheerful place where grumps weren't allowed.

Dubbed "Rainbow Trail" for its infinite beauty,

This was the home of the Princess cutie.

Escaping the troubles of the world below,

She came through her dreams, not a worry in tow.

Each night she'd arrive, a party would greet

The most beautiful princess they ever did meet.

Bunnies, penguins, turtles, and froggies.

Kitties, teddy bears, duckies, and doggies.

All waited around for the Princess to appear

On the most special day of the entire year.

All covered in jewels and decked out in pink

To pen her magnificence, you'd run out of ink.

Clearly she knew about the happy occasion

That brought out her pals of every persuasion.

Upon seeing a cake the size of a Chevy,

The princess's heartbeat suddenly turned heavy.

Her cake was grand, but one thing was missing

Nowhere in sight was the prince she'd be kissing.

After blowing out the candles with a breath very deep,

The princess collapsed, and started to weep.

Concerned, the pals ran, to be by her side.

Each of them knowing darn well why she cried.

And just at that moment, the cake started to move.

At first a small crack, and increasingly, a groove.

Getting to her feet, the princess peered inside,

Wondering what they were trying to hide.

"Hello," she called out, resulting in echoes.

The walls appeared covered in Skittles and Neccos.

A sniff revealed wafts of cocoa and candy.

Ahead, a tiny light proved to be handy.

Following illumination the distant candle gave,

The princess recognized the Chocolate Cave.

Curiosity piqued, she started to run.

Was this all a part of her birthday fun?

Turning the last corner, the light was immense.

The candles' strong glow was bright and intense.

Twenty-seven to be exact, no more, no less.

Atop a rich chocolate cake designed to impress.

From behind the table, stepped a familiar face,

Who picked up the princess in loving embrace.

The Prince had surprised her, of that he was sure.

One smile said it all, her delight- indeed pure.

His hand cupped her shoulder, he set down his dish.

"Happy birthday, Princess, now please make a wish."

"Oh, I already did. And it has come true.

The Princess's Birthday

Make a wish!
