Salma Hayek Getting Married and Having First Child at 40

We have watched her as a vampire in "From Dusk Till Dawn", as a pregnant romantic in "Fools Rush In", and we have loved her in other movies, which include Wild Wild West, Dogma and Spy Kids 3. She has appeared in over 35 films globally and is currently working with charaties that include violence against women and immigrants that are discriminated against.

Her father Sami Hayek who was a Mexican/Lebanese oil executive and her mother Diana Jimenez who was an opera singer made a very comfortable life for their family. Hayek who is a devout catholic went to school at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Louisiana. After a few attitude problems, Hayek was sent to live in Texas with her Aunt where she lived until she was 17 years old.

The Mexican - Lebanese beauty decided to move to California in 1991 to study acting and hoping like many people for a chance at Hollywood. Salma's chance would come in 1995, when she starred opposite of Antonio Banderas in Desperado and stole the hearts of movie watchers as well as movie producers. Her face was fresh and ate up the camera immediately.

Among Hayek's many accomplishments, she is the founder of Ventanarosa where she produces films and television shows. She has also been nominated for Best Foreign Film at the Oscars, she has received a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Director in a Children/Youth/Family Special, as well as been the spokeswoman for Avon and Revlon. In 2001, Hayek received the Woman of the Year Award from Glamour magazine. Harvard also rewarded her with the Foundation Artist of the Year Award in Feb. 2006.

Now at the age of 40, the beautiful actress is finally settling down announcing her engagement to businessman Francois-Henri Pinault. Along with her romantic news, she has also announced that the two are expecting their first child.
