Still a Great Movie Even After All These Years! Man of the House - 1995

2
I loved this movie when I was a teen and I still love it when I watch it now. This spoiler-free review will hopefully convince you to check it out today :)

Plot
Ben Archer is a young boy living with his divorced mother, Sandy. Life's good for him because he's got his mom all to himself and he's happy about that. However, Sandy is finally ready to start dating again and she falls for a lawyer, Jack Sturgess. Jack starts coming around the house trying to make friends with Ben, and Ben tries his hardest to make Jack go away. An additional plot point is that Jack has angered some very dangerous people by sending one of their group to prison... so will Jack ever make friends with Ben? or will Ben drive him away?

Actors
Farrah Fawcett .... Sandy Archer .... She plays Sandy, the mother, and only has a little involvement in the film. A great choice as this mother who's trying to do the best for her son and herself at the same time. Her character was very realistic as she acted just like any good mom would in this same situation. She showed real concern for her son, but still wanted to find love and was stuck in between the two men. Which one will she choose when times get rough? You'll have to watch it to see!

Chevy Chase .... Jack Sturgess (Squatting Dog) and Jonathan Taylor Thomas .... Ben Archer (Little Wing)
Jonathan is very clever, but Chevy catches on at one point and it becomes a story of who can outwit who! These two worked very well together. I love Chevy Chase in every movie I've seen him in because he has that relaxed quality where he can do or say something really funny without being over-the-top. Jonathan was always a good choice for these types of movies because he has that smart-alec quality yet is still the type of kid people feel sorry for. This film only works because of these two actors.
