Associated Content is home to some very talented writers and compelling content. It has also been called a "dumping ground" and not credible. The fact is that AC gets a bad rep because there is no differentiation between paid and unpaid content. I am here to assure you that Associated Content is a wonderful place for any writer to begin or expand upon their career. I am a professional writer. I am contracted by clients to produce articles, web content, and e-books. My career is still in the early stages, but is already taking off rapidly and so is my bank account!
I found Associated Content through a message board. I began writing for Associated Content with no delusions and no expectations. Now I am making a steady income thanks to the experience that AC has provided. Here is how I did it.
Associated Content made me a better writer. I learned how to write for the web utilizing keywords and search engine optimization. This is an invaluable skill to learn. The world is run through computers and the majority of freelance work is web content. As long as someone is willing to admit that they don't already know everything, then they have the ability to continue to learn and hone their craft. The feedback I received from Associated Content helped me to do just that.
Associated Content gave me courage. I never imagined that I would have a career as a writer. I always hoped for one, but never felt that I was good enough. It was Associated Content that boosted my ego enough so that I felt secure in seeking out other freelance writing jobs. I received wonderful feedback from content managers, other content producers, friends, family, and even random strangers who happened upon an article I had written. There is nothing more important in a writing career than knowing you have the talent. Without this, I would constantly be second guessing myself and never completing a job satisfactorily.
