Best Character on Guiding Light

If you are a Guiding Light fan then you can definately feel the effects that Reva Shane has on her audiences when she takes center stage. The show, itself, has many talented and long time cast members, however, not many can compare to various emotions, attitudes, passion, strengths, and the fighting-will that Reva Shane has displayed throughout the years. From re-appearing from the dead (at least that is what her family and audience thought) several times, and bringing brand new story lines each time she came back, one could never tell if she would be that same old Reva. She has been the character that had psychic abilities which led her to a son she never knew she had, the character that somehow always had wiggled her way back into the heart of her long time soap love Joshua Lewis, and the character that has given up the ones she loved to make other people's lives more pleasant. With all of the reputitious acts she has displayed through the years, nothing compares to the long battle she fought against breast cancer (on the show).

Reva Shane, was always a stong character that could never be knocked down. Despite the many losses in her soap life, the several men that have come and gone, and many near death experiences on the show, she proved that she is a character with courage and integrity when she portrayed a patient and survivor of breast cancer. Although many shows and day time dramas are starting to incorporate real time threats and illness in their programs, issues such as life threatening diseases are touched upon lightly and briefly and often used as a plot to "kill" off a character. Guiding Light, however, made it an ongoing theme to have Kim Zimmerman (Reva Shane) play the long, educational, and heart touching role of a person battling breast cancer. For this reason alone, she is the number one soap star.
