Where to Take Sailing Lessons in Atlanta

Lake Lanier is a great place to take sailing lessons and these sailing schools in the Atlanta Georgia area make good use of it. They also have lessons on coastal sailing, which is completely different. You can progress up the lesson's ladder to the top and be certified to take a boat out on an extended cruise for a weekend or more. Take the lessons that best fit the type of sailing you are going to do. You will never know if you can, unless you get up and try.

The Lanier Sailing Academy in Atlanta has lessons in
Basic Keelboat Certification BKB-101, these are the beginners lessons and Coastal Navigation. You can take class and/or private lessons. In the basic course, you will take these lessons: Sailboat Familiarization, Sailing Technology, Why a Sailboat Sails, Points of Sail, Tacking and Jybing, Stopping the Boat, Rules of the Road, Safety at Sea, Docking and Mooring, Steering, Sailors' Knots, Reefing Sails - (Sail Reduction), Crew Overboard and Securing to Dock. You will be certified when you complete these lessons and then can progress to the Navigation Lessons.
