You will have several pools to cool off in after a fun-filled day at the parks. There's a family pool complete with a tiki bar offering alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. There's also a volcanic water slide and sugar white sandy beach with plenty of comfortable lounge chairs. Or if your seeking a calmer post park refuge, check out the "quiet pool," for tropical tranquility. The resort also offers mini boat rentals that you can navigate through the surrounding scenic lake for a small fee. Just watch out for large ferry boats delivering travelers to and from the parks.
The Polynesian has many dining options to choose from. For casual fare with Hawaiian flair try the Kona Cafe and indulge yourself with rich coffees and Tonga Toast which is french toast stuffed with bananas, cinnamon and more. Ohana's offers a full service dinner featuring giant skewers of fresh meat, grilled right before your eyes. Ohana's also features a character breakfast where you can enjoy a tasty buffet with your favorite Disney friends. Tuesday through Saturday, the resort presents an authentic luau celebration complete with customs of the South Seas and traditional cuisine. Be sure to make reservations at least a few weeks in advance for Ohana's as well as the luau, especially if you are traveling with a large group. Seating fills up fast!
Finally, your best bet for quick convenience and ease is Captain Cook's which is open 24 hours a day! They serve great breakfasts with eggs, waffles, muffins, juice and more. For lunch and dinner you can choose from an assortment of hot and cold sandwiches, fruit, chips and lots of other snacks which are also perfect for bringing to the pools or parks.
