Fashion designers are the ones behind the glitz and glamour of the fashion shows. The models have the fabulous jobs of wearing the fashion designs created by the designers. The fashion designers and models do not know until after the fashion show is over, if it was a break or make deal for them.

The fashion designers will focus their talents in either accessory or clothing areas. Accessory fashion designer speciality areas can include foot wear and handbags. The clothing fashion designer's areas can be broken down into mens, women's, and children's apparel. These three fashion apparel areas can include lingerie and swim wear.

When the phrase fashion designer is brought up during conversations, many people think of fashion designers who cater to the rich and famous. There are clothing manufacturers, such as Faded Glory, Wrangler, and George, hire fashion designers.
