Surprisingly, it isn't hard to hypnotize yourself. It can also be very beneficial to you when trying to reach certain goals. By hypnotizing yourself, it makes things a whole lot easier. Hypnosis is commonly thought to consist of a person listening to an audios tape, usually when they are asleep, that is intended to induce you willingness to absorb suggestions on a specific topic such as quitting cigarettes. These tapes are usually made by someone the person being hypnotized has never met. The tapes can present unpleasant imagery and suggestions. For instance, you can't swim. The last thing you want to hear about it you wading in the ocean. The best way to go is to hypnotize yourself.
When hypnotizing yourself, you should be the one that makes the tape, making suggestions on how to get closer to your goals. This way, the imagery the person gets are pleasant. Here are some simple steps to self hypnosis:
1. Have your goals in order from most important to least important.
2. With each goal, you should have suggestions that fit into them reasonably. Have them be specific instructions on how you can achieve your goal.
3. Relax yourself. Take the first few minutes of hypnosis to relax your body and mind as much as possible before beginning.
4. You can begin by repeating the words of the tape.
5. When you are finished with the hypnosis session, you should repeat the phrases to yourself through out the day.
