While I'm just a newbie here, there's one thing that I've picked up on as I've read the forums and several articles here. The content producers here at Associated Content are a diverse group of individuals with one thing in common, getting paid to do what they love- write.

You can see stories of people who are struggling to pay the bills, but doing the best they can to keep up, stories of people that might be disabled and unable to work a traditional job, people facing homelessness, or bankruptcy. Or you see people that just love to write, and have found an outlook on where to do it. Is there any other place in which you can contribute and slowly but surely work your way to a better life? Not one for the common man or woman, at least not that I know about.

While the Nobel Peace Prize is given in this case for the "peace" part of it, I have to say that Associated Content has brought me inner peace. As tacky and cliché as that might sound, it's true. If I'm struggling or stressed, specifically about my mounting bills, I can come here and not only write to relieve some of my stresses, but make a contribution financially to get myself into a better place. For the time it takes me to write an article, some of my stressors have been put on hold, giving me awhile to relieve my mind.

It's as good as a part time job in my case, figuring the cost of a "traditional" out of the home job, in which I have to spend 6 hours a day (1 hour unpaid lunch break) to break even with 25 hours a week, have taxes taken out, and keep me away from my full time job, as well as my children. I'd much rather make my part-time home here, working at home, more relaxed and with the children here or a room away. At the same time, I probably equal the amount of money I'd be making at a traditional part time job.

AC has certainly been a positive experience for many people who otherwise might not have such an outlet.
