Prison Break Actor Shouldn't Take Full Responsibility of Tragic Accident

Lane Garrison's Reckless Driving Examined

It's all over the news. "Lane Garrison is charged after a fatal crash."

The former Prison Break actor, who plays "Tweener" on the show, has been charged with felony vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence and a misdemeanor count for providing alcohol to a minor for his recklessness in the December car crash last year, which resulted in the death of Vahagn Setian, a 17-year-old high school student of Beverly Hills High School.

Yet, as much fault as Garrison was for drinking and driving - his alcohol level had been above twice the legal limit - he is not solely at fault for the incident. The teenagers, who decided to enter his car knowing full well that Lane was intoxicated, were foolish and should have known right from wrong. The idea that Setian was young and and didn't know right from wrong is ignorant. With all the D.A.R.E. teachings from middle school to the Health classes required in high school, Setian and the other two teenage girls should have known better than to enter his car. Perhaps it was the glamorous idea of being with a Hollywood actor that enticed them to enter his car. No one will know, but Garrison should not have to take the full responsibility. He did not force them to enter his car, they entered the car through their own decisions and thus, should be held accountable for their foolish decisions. Setian is not a saint for dieing in the accident. He is just the poster child of drunk driving and foolish teenagers.
