Controversy Continues: What Happens when Christians like Miss California Carrie Prejean Stumble & Fall?
Everyone has heard the news by now: Miss California, Carrie Prejean, was ridiculed and insulted publicly by homosexual activist Perez Hilton following the Miss USA Pageant in April for answering his agenda-driven question with her honest opinion. While she was already drawing harsh criticism from her detractors over her Miss USA Pageant answer about gay marriage, some risqué photos began appearing on the web of Carrie Prejean in various stages of topless undress, from photos of her wearing pink underwear to photos of her in a vest that left little to the imagination. It appears Prejean intended her small vest to partially cover her breasts in public photos for the Bliss photo shoot, but her carelessness in keeping her breasts covered between poses allowed an unscrupulous photographer to capitalize on photos snapped between posed shots. I am personally disgusted by the provocative photographs Carrie Prejean allowed to be taken. However, while I find the Bliss photos and pink-panty pictures of Prejean in very poor taste, I am even more disturbed by the huge amount of hate-mongering and name calling the gay activists and other liberals have gleefully heaped on this young woman. Prejean's detractors have not only rightfully criticized her for her terrible judgment in posing for the photos, but they have savagely ridiculed the 22-year-old Miss California and done their best to destroy Carrie Prejean's credibility. Isn't that what they call "hate-speech?"

I removed three posts which (yawn) tried to present the point the Carrie Prejean is a disgusting hypocrite, that she bases her views on an Old Testament verse, and that I must live in some other world... yada yada yada. I didn't feel like addressing the three-post rambling diatribe, but I will say Prejean's views are in keeping with NEW TESTAMENT teaching, that I live in the same world as the vast majority of Americans, and I don't intend to let some special-interest seminar poster use my article to continue bashing Carrie Prejean with the same old nonsense. Take your manufactured anger and special-interest propaganda elsewhere.

I still believe they were just doctored-up photos of underwear advertisements. We see more at the beach and on TV. But don't you know only Christians can be guilty of hate and intolerance? When the "other side" does it, they're just expressing their opinion.

I would have answered just as she did. Even Jesus continued to be true to himself through each nail driven. Good write-up. I'm not the favorite due to my honesty sometimes, and that I would not change for a million years, a million bucks, or a million fans. Thank you for the Sunday coffee Kathryn :)

Indeed Christians DO stumble. Just because someone is a Christian doesn't meant that they are not human. I don't know if the pics were taken before or after she became a Christian..and it doesn't matter. Let those without sin cast the first stone? Great article.
