Farrah's Story, Farrah Fawcett and Her Dream
An Angel Prepares to Spread Her Wings
NBC released a documentary tonight called Farrah's Story. The documentary surrounded Farrah Fawcett's treatments for cancer. The long and winding challenging road. Ryan O'Neal, Farrah's longtime boyfriend, gives the nod, it's now or never, she's dying. On September 2006 Farrah Fawcett's diagnosis was of concern. Shot by Rod Stewart's ex-wife Alana Hamilton, Farrah's Story is in the works. Farrah traveled 6 times to Germany for treatment, the camera caught the spring moment in 2007. From there the world would catch a different view into the fawn character of Farrah Fawcett and the love that Farrah shared with Ryan O'Neal and their son, Redmond.
Redmond, 24, Farrah's son, visits Farrah while in shackles, Farrah had no idea, she was sedated to avoid any inner pain contributed from the growing cancer which spread to her liver. Redmond is serving time for drug charges. Redmond tried to pull it together for a moment when climbing onto Farrah's bed, just so Farrah could see his face. Farrah viewed as immobile and partially incoherent, Redmond figures it out, she's dying. A gut wrenching moment for any person to watch as Redmond hides his tears with a slight cry. Redmond sees his mother for the last time alive as he is carted back to jail.
Farrah is known as Ryan's long time girlfriend and Lee Majors ex-wife, but had ended up with Ryan by her side during her battle with cancer. Farrah found support in Ryan. Ryan is torn.
Ryan recently has told People magazine that he "won't know this world without her. It's a love story" then continued, "I just don't know how to play this one."
As Farrah once smiled, swam, played about in light humorous moments, it was hard to see her quite the opposite, especially when she has touched many within her accomplishments. For more on Farrah Fawcett's accomplishments visit Remembering Farrah.
Farrah always remained strong through life, endured the hassles, trials and trivia of treatment with inner strength.
