With the wonderful holiday of Easter around the corner it is time to start thinking about crafts and gifts. Easter crafts can be so much fun and most gifts are candy or food related. Here are some gift and craft ideas that you can all do as a family. Making Easter Eggs
Everybody loves to decorate Easter eggs. Mix things up a little bit by decorating the eggs differently this year. A new medium is using chalkboard spray paint to thoroughly cover a hard boiled egg. Then, take different colored chalk and decorate the eggs. Gently pat the chalk designs with a dry paper towel to remove excess chalk and prevent smudging. There are lots of ways that you can spice up some plain color eggs. Glitter, graffiti, stamps and sand art are just a few of the many ways to make those eggs beautiful.
Easter Crafts
Making Easter crafts are a great way to spend some time with your family. Many of these crafts will accommodate most age groups so the whole family can join in. Try these out this Easter.
Egg Pail- Get some small metal pails and then help your children decorate them. Use glitter glue, glue on cut-outs, stickers, and markers to decorate their pails. Then they can use their pails to collect eggs on the Easter egg hunt.
Bunny Heads- For younger children you can cut out bunny heads and have them color in the ears, eyes, nose, etc.
Bunny suckers- Making suckers is easier than you think. You can purchase melting chocolate, sucker molds, and sticks at most major retailers. These are great to give as gifts as well.
Easter Baked Goods
Egg Cookies- Start saving your empty egg cartons to make these egg cookies extra special. Roll out store bought or hand made cookie dough and cut out egg shapes with a cookie cutter. Bake the cookies as directed and decorate them. Decorate the bottom of the empty carton with Easter grass and place a cookie in each egg cup. Give as a gift or keep to eat for yourself.
