24 Season Finale Puts Jack Back in Daughter-Saving Mode

2
Every 24 season finale has some of the biggest explosions and twist of a TV year. This 24 season finale doesn't have a nuclear bomb to defuse, or cities to save, however. Past 24 season finales have had shocking deaths, new locations for Jack to go to, and new crossroads for him to stand on. But this 24 season finale is teasing out an event that most 24 fans wished they'd never have to see again - Jack having to save his daughter from yet another mess.

This season on 24 has done a lot to redeem the critically despised sixth season, and an 18 month break due to the writers strike. Taking Jack to Washington D.C. and putting new and old friends and enemies in his wake has helped 24 get back on track.

But heading into the home stretch of the 24 season finale, some red flags have been raised. Tony Almeida has raised eyebrows and snickers for once again switching from good to evil. For now, Tony is the main villain left in the 24 season finale, though if Jack kills him, fans probably won't believe he's dead again.

For another, 24 pariah Kim Bauer once again came back to test fans limits. Until now, Kim's return was limited to comforting her dying father, Jack refusing her help, and the revelation that she has a daughter named Teri.

But with Tony's bosses threatening to kill Kim unless Jack gets Tony free from custody, the worst fears of 24 fans stand to come true in this season finale.

However, in terms of saving the world and America, Jack seems to have already done it. Tony's military contractor bosses failed with their big terrorist attack last week. Jon Voight's Jonas Hodges, the season's previous big villain, is already dead thanks to President Taylor's daughter - an act she may answer for tonight thanks to Aaron Pierce.

So for this 24 season finale, the stakes may just be at a personal level for Jack, as he tries to save Kim yet again before dying from his pathogen exposure. The previews tease that Jack will reach an "emotional breaking point" tonight.
