On the heels of her controversial break-up with popular morning talk show, "The View", Star Jones Reynolds has returned to her legal roots. She will be starring in a new daytime show on Court TV. Her new show on Court TV is still yet unnamed, but will offer perspectives on current trials and crime stories. Reynolds will also be interviewing authorities involved in some of these cases."It's really like a coming home. I actually was on the very first weekend Court TV launched. It was July 1991," Star Jones says of her start in television.
Since her split with "The View" in June of 2006, Star has filled in for radio show host, Michael Eric Dyson, and has even been teaching a civics class for 7th and 8th graders at the East Harlem School at Exodus, since September of 2006. The former Brooklyn assistant district attorney has stated that she is "thrilled" to embark upon a career with Court TV as a commentator, host, anchor, and legal analyst. Currently dividing her time between Miami and New York, Reynolds has held down a controversial place in the spotlight---from rumors over the nature of her weight loss, to verbal digs between herself and other "View" hostesses. But upon hearing the news of Reynolds' newfound gig, the ladies of "The View" have had nothing but good things to say. Current host, Rosie O'Donnell called Reynolds' new look "beautiful", and along with the other hosts, wished her congratulations.
Reynolds justifies her re-introduction to the law, stating that there is a need for a re-examination of the law with regard to entertainment, justice, and pop culture.
When asked about her infamous style choices, Star responded:
"This is Star Jones Reynolds the lawyer right now. She's smart, capable and she can still have fun. She can be hip, but she doesn't have to be flashy. So you won't see rotating hair, but you will see brilliant analysis,"
