"Cheesus" Christ Found in Another Bag of Cheetos
Same Story, Different "Cheesus"
Faith is where you find it. Or so it seems. Take, for instance, the myriad sightings of images of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary that frequently appear in the news. From rock walls to oil stains on garage floors to dollops of chocolate to the backs of moths, images of the sacred are being seen everywhere. The latest story to catch the public's attention is the image of Jesus Christ that appeared in another bag of Cheetos on one of the snack treats. The discoverers have taken to calling it "Cheesus" or "Cheesus Christ."It isn't often people find spiritual sustenance in a bag of Cheetos, but Sara Bell was munching on the cheesy snacks on her way home with her husband from Houston, Texas, when she was left with one in her hand. She happened to look down and "Jesus appeared" she jokingly told Preston Hollow People.
She showed the small figure, which resembles "a person in a robe praying," to her husband, Dan Bell, who exclaimed, "Wow! It does look like a praying Jesus."
The couple nicknamed the Cheeto figurine "Cheesus."
But the little guy doesn't seem to be the only "Cheesus" Jesus Christ out there. The story keeps resurrecting itself, although each cheese figure has been shaped somewhat differently.
According to KSPR.com, a Missouri woman, Kelly Ramey, found a cheeto Jesus on a cross back in July of 2008. She and her husband call their cheese manifestation "Cheesus."
And then there is the Houston man, Steve Cragg, a church youth leader, who saw the image of Jesus in a cheese curl in March 2008. KTRK in Houston reported that one of the youths at his church dubbed the figure "Cheesus."
Friends of Sara and Dan Bell have suggested they sell their "Cheesus" on eBay, but they are currently keeping it safe in a wristwatch box. Kelly Ramey says she has no plans to sell her "Cheesus," because it has brought her family such joy. Steve Cragg has kept his "Cheesus" on a bookcase since he discovered it.
