American Idol Review - Adam Vs. Kris
That's it. The final bell has rung and its time to go to the scorecards. We have two great performers with their own distinctive styles and fan bases. Unfortunately, the media is pretty much painting the story as, "When will Adam Lambert finally win this thing?" The people I've talked to have said the same thing, even if they like Kris Allen more.
I'm not sure either contestant had THE MOMENT tonight. But they each produced at least one stellar performance, a really good performance, and then a song that Kara Dioguardi wrote that neither contestant would have chosen in a million years. It seems like most Idol finale's go this way...except someone else writes the bad Dioguardi-esqe song.
Speaking of Dioguardi, lets just say that the woman had a really bad night on live television. Not only should she be embarrassed from the awful song that has her name on it, but she didn't look good on screen at all. I'm not talking aesthetics here. Every time the camera was on her, she appeared angry. When she was giving critiques on the performances it was as if she were yelling at her parents for not understanding the words that came out of her mouth. I understand she was in a bigger venue and this was the Idol finale, but tone it down girlfriend! I think the pressure of the show has gotten to Kara. While I think she will improve with more screen time, I'm not sure she deserves getting called back for another year. Who would have thought Paula would be the sane judge this season? On the other hand, I think people are feeding Paula some lines, so its easy to sound like a rational person.
Anyway, on to the performances.
