Do You Miss Kraft Limburger Cheese Spread

I Do

I miss Kraft Limburger Cheese Spread. My Grandpa Phillip Klausz SR showed me the joy of Kraft Limburger Cheese Spread. Kraft decided not to make it any more... For whatever the reason Kraft has decided to delete this wonderful product from their line of spreadable cheeses. Too Bad, So Sad... The Big Kraft folks have disappointed us once again. I have developed a recipe that is a good substitute. I hope this inspires you to try this wonderful tasty treat. Join me as I roll up my sleeves, take off my rings, wash my hands and get cooking...

Homemade Limburger Cheese Spread

Ingredients:

8oz brick Wisconsin Limber cheese @ room temp (your favorite brand) Don't use rind

8oz brick real cream cheese @ room Temp (Your favorite brand)

2 Tablespoons real butter (unsalted butter is better) Boycott Kraft

2+ Tablespoons Garlic Powder (not garlic salt)

Directions:

The easy way is a food processor but you can blend by hand. Make sure the butter and both cheese are @ room temp. Blend till smooth. Store in an air tight container. If this isn't thin enough please feel free to add more butter.

Notes:

The Queen Goddess and I love this spread with a slice of red onion on a slice of dark Rye bread. Perhaps a few pickled pigs feet to enhance the meal.

I have also enjoyed it tossed in some hot shell pasta with some black olives and some cherry tomatoes. My mouth is watering as I type this.

Butter your rye bread and spread the inside with this Homemade Kraft Limburger Cheese Spread to make the most delectable grilled cheese sandwich you've ever tasted.

One last dish is add a small amount to your tuna or chicken salad sandwich for a delightful change of pace.

There is a rumor this is great when served with an ice cold beer. You will have to report back to me on that since I quit drinking beer about 17 years ago.
