Okay, you use dental floss to clean in between your teeth, but do you realize there are other uses for this stringy product as well? Here are 7 amazing uses for dental floss you need to know about:

1. Need String? Get Out the Dental Floss!
How many times have you searched your place for a piece of string to tie a box shut, close a bag or secure a bundle of newspapers together? Before you turn your house upside down, the next time you need string, just grab your box of dental floss. In it, you'll find a piece of string as long, or as short, as you need.

2. Fix the Torn Mesh on Your Fishing Net
Another amazing use for dental floss is that you can use it to fix your fishing net when the mesh gets torn. In fact, you can use dental floss to fix anything that has mesh material on it! Just thread a large-eyed needle with the string, then sew it back together.

3. Slice Homemade Bread Easily
Can't find a sharp enough knife to slice a loaf of homemade bread with? If you use a dull knife, the slices will be irregular, and maybe even broken into chunks. Grab a length of dental floss and wrap the ends around your forefingers. Then, hold the string over top the bread. Pull the dental floss back and forth as you gently push it down into the bread. You should end up with nice, even slices.

4. Break a Shoelace? No Problem!
Shoelaces aren't something I keep spare around the house. Why? Because there are too many colors, styles and lengths. Whenever I break one, I just wing it until I can buy a new pair of laces. If this sounds like you, then reach for the dental floss the next time a shoelace snaps. It may look kind of dorky, but floss is easier to string into the holes or hooks of your shoes.

5. Use Dental Floss to Hang Pictures
An amazing use for dental floss is when you're decorating. Anytime I need to hang a picture on the wall, I grab a small nail and a string... or, a piece of dental floss. Dental floss is durable and can hold a pretty-good size picture securely on the wall. It's easier to attach to the back of the picture than wire, and much cheaper to purchase too!
