Merry Meet Readers! My name is Lily Inanna Danu, and I am a Witch. I have been for many years. I do not worship the devil, I do not cast spells or evil curses on unsuspecting people, and I most certainly DO NOT sacrifice beautiful children and animals. I live my life in peace. Unfortunately, living it in a closet that I can never come out of. Hatred pours all around me, from all areas. It penetrates my skin and eats me up inside. Everywhere I look I see it in the eyes of my peers. It breaks me heart.

Everyone comes to me and tries to change me. They sit telling me how evil and horrible I am, even though I am polite and kind. I have tarnished my soul with my devilish ways. Why must I hear that? I am not Evil. I have love in my heart for everyone, no matter their race, no matter their religion. I understand that we are each different, all unique. We are the children of the Mother and Father. I would like to add that yes, there are times where "fanatics" bring themselves into the public eye, but that happens with EVERY religion. Whether Christian, Islamic, Hindu, there are those that take it way to far.

I see all these children walking around in their black clothes, wearing their Pentacles, thinking it is cool. But do they understand what the Pentacle means? What it represents? Most don't. Yes you do have that select few that find their way. But most of them are in it for the looks, because it is cool. They do not spend their days contemplating how to make the world a better place, or about caring for others.

Can I add that a lot of the bad rap that Wicca gets is because of the posers. As you eluded to, they are the punks dressed in black with their pentacle tatoos. They say that they are Wiccan but their spirit is not one of Love, but of casting magical (read: powerful, as in "I can make or break anyone with my super-natural power) spells. It's unfortunate that we live in a judgemental culture, but people will individualize their experience and apply it to the whole.

I think someone needs to look up the definition of witch craft and the definition of devil worship. The act of worshipping a being and casting a spell are two very different acts. This was a fantastic article that needed to be written. I do identify as Wiccan, though I mostly call myself Pagan--as I don't want to argue with anyoen as to who is or is not Wiccan or be restricted by a label.

I identified as Wiccan for quite some time, but my path evolved and I now walk a Pagan independent Buddhist path. The intolerance and ignorance can be so frustrating.

Nimrod created the occult, and ever since then its only God is the devil.

To say witchcraft is not devil worship is silly. I was involved in all this stuff, kabbalah, occultism, hypnotism, etc. You know in your heart these are demons you are messing with. Eventually you'll be doing some pretty crazy things as you get further down this dark rabbit hole. Wicca is just a gateway into the real world and power of the occult. The power of the Holy Ghost is beyond anything a few puny devils can churn up. Why worship the devil when you can worship the All-powerful Lord Jesus Christ who came in the flesh? I've seen Satan's power and I've seen the Lord's power. Satan is a liar and those who follow him will end up sharing in his punishment for all eternity--the Lake of Fire.

I am pagan also, and was glad to see this article. I have been writing pagan articles as AC as well, and as a way to help spread the word and dispell the myth of paganism/Wicca being devil worship or evil.
