Tori Spelling Has a Boy and Heals Rift with Mother

On Tuesday, March 13 Tori Spelling gave birth to her first child. According to her publicist, Meghan Prophet, the child was born at a hospital in Los Angeles. The new baby a boy was born weighing 6 pounds, 6 ounces and has been named Liam Aaron McDermott.

The new baby is Tori Spelling's first child and the second child for her husband actor Dean McDermott. McDermott already has an eight-year-old son from a previous marriage.

The baby was born at Cedars Sinai hospital, Los Angeles California. His middle name Aaron is in honour of Tori's father, Aaron Spelling who past away at the age of 83 last June. In a quote to Access Hollywood Tori Spelling said "I feel like I have been given such a gift having this little baby inside of me that it's kind of part of him, so I know that he will be up there wishing us well and celebrating with us and this little one inside me."

The new baby has also been the catalyst for a reconciliation between Tori Spelling and her mother Candy. Tori and her mother have been estranged since the death of Tori's famous television producer father Aaron Spelling.

According to Randy Spelling, Tori's brother, his mother and sister have been working towards a reconciliation and have been "communicating back and forth" he also said "I think it's a culmination of things. I think when you're family, you have your up and downs, but hopefully you all come back together" "And I am sure the baby just makes that happen quicker."

According to People magazine Candi Spelling was at her daughters side to help welcome the new member of their family. Candi Spelling described to People how happy she was at the birth of her grandson and how she couldn't wait dote on him.

The cause of the very public rift between Tori Spelling and her mother was apparently due to a parody Tori did of her mother during an episode of "So NoTORIous" and faux-reality series aired on VHI. The parody portrayed her mother as being wicked.
