A question that man has been trying to answer for hundreds, thousands of years, is there a God? I say the answer is yes.

I could get into a big religious debate about who God is. To each religion he stands for something different. But each religion does share some basic definitions of what he is.
But I don’t want to discuss religion, I want to talk about God.

I am using the term he. But many people believes that God is a female. I think he is male but not like the human males here on Earth. He is of course all knowing, which means he understands women, he knows how we feel. Human males are not that knowledgeable.

God also has many names from Savior, Christ, Buddha and Jehovah. But what ever you wish to call him, he is still the idol of all idols.

Most of us were born being told what God expected. For many, this may be the reason why they don’t believe now. It was crammed into their throats too much as children and he really came up when they were doing something their parents felt like they shouldn’t be doing. This could make God appear as a judgmental figure for some as adults.

Personally, I don’t believe God is judgmental. Of course, he wants us to do what is right. But I also believe that he understands that everyone has to endure different things. For that reason, I believe when it comes time for God to judge us, he will keep this in mind. He also understands we are human and we make mistakes. If we realize what we have done is wrong and we are sorry, I believe he will keep this in mind.

When people think of God, they also think of all the miracles he has made happen. But I still don’t want to talk about where the stories came from now. For we all know that the bible was written by man and it has been duplicated hundreds upon thousands of times. Some of his words were probably lost and some were probably altered, not by any dark means, but just by human mistake.

Takeaways
  • God may be called by many names
  • God's words were copied by man.
  • God is love
Did You Know?
Signs that God exists can be found everywhere, the sun, the moon, and flowers blooming.

i'm a believer, too. God goes beyond any religion's definition of Him.

"Because if there was no God, what would the point of it all have been? " - How sad!

This is a great article. You put into words a lot of my feelings on the matter. Nice job.

Good question and answer. I never know why people equate science to being the "opposite" of god. The word science comes from words meaning "knowledge" or "to know". Science is about gathering knowledge. From science we learn why bees hoover over flowers and how they produce honey. The human brain is a fascinating thing which most of us use very little of. If a creator created all things it is natural to assume that the brain was created to seek knowledge. I think the world would be a better place if religion was abolished so that people were free to worship god/goddess as they know s/he without all these killing wars.

WEll put. I liked the read, even though my views on God and religion, are somewhat different, as most people know by now. I really did enjoy the read, though.

I have always believed in God even though I'm not a very religious person. I figure with all the bad things going on in this world, more than ever people need something positive to believe in, and my belief in God is what keeps me grounded and sane.

I've felt the touch of God more than once in my life -- when my first child was born, when I was angry and challenged God to prove his/her existence, several other times. Today I can see God in every tree, flower, bug, rainbow, the ocean, everything. Would we not live in a better world if everyone could see that, even if they only called it "wonder"?

Very poignant and beautiful. Sorry, I feel like I read your mail. I received your e-mail message for someone else and followed the link. Hehe. This was very well said and nicely written. I believe like you that there must be a God for all the beautiful things in this world. Like a sunset, sunrise etc. Great article. Bye
